Day one in Cologne started off with the expected EnVyUs-TSM match-up, which has been voted on for nearly two days by the community. TSM were in an uphill battle though, as de_cbble was chosen, which the Danish side is known not to play very often. The fresh French lineup was able to prevail following a strong Terrorist side 16-11, which cost TSM one of their four lives. They went with mousesports and Renegades instead, this time on de_dust2, which the German-based side was able to storm through with no real trouble 16-2. SK Gaming arrived with a stand-in, Nikola "NiKo" Kovač, of course, who led SK Gaming frag-wise to their first victory in Cologne on de_overpass after a confident 12-3 Counter-Terrorist side. The clear favourites didn't let their Australian opposition surprise them though, as Renegades lost another life after yet another one-sided result, this time 16-6. IEM Gamescom 2015Best of 1 TSM Matchpage 16 6 5th August 2015 Renegades 16Mirage 6 Understandably, TSM wanted to cause as much damage as possible to their biggest threat at the tournament, EnVyUs, who they have lost to in the initial match of the tournament. With that in mind, arguably the third best team at the tournament, mousesports, were picked to battle for one of their lives. That match ended up being the closest one, despite EnVyUs picking up a 14-8 lead. mousesports couldn't come back all the way though, as the Frenchmen closed it out at 16-13.
